Meet the Associates

Picture

Kelsey Andrews

Hi, my name is Kelsey. I graduated in 2018 from Mercer with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with minors in Music and Religion. Along with working as an associate, I will be working at Cathedral Coffee and my current plan is to go back to school for Library Science.

I didn't come to Wesley until my sophomore year, but the first time I heard the worship I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. And I want to continue helping Wesley to be a place where people can find how they most freely worship.

If I'm not doing Wesley things, I'm probably reading or playing guitar. Also, I'm a Hufflepuff.

Brenley Martinez

Hi friends! My name is Brenley Martinez and I am one of your new associates for Wesley of Macon! YAYY. I can’t wait to get to know you and if I don’t already know you, let’s be friends okay?

So here are a few things about me: I graduated from Mercer this past spring and absolutely LOVED my time as an undergrad student. When I was in high school, I never even considered applying to Mercer. I had no intention of even visiting Mercer and yet over the course of four years, Mercer has become another home to me. God is so cool that way isn’t He? I majored in Law and Public Policy and minored in Spanish. I was a part of the orientation team as well as a sorority while I was at Mercer. I loved being involved on campus. From my first week of school freshmen year, I knew the Lord was pushing me to find the type of community I had in high school. I was terrified but guys, the Father only gives good gifts. He knows the desires of our hearts and He always knows what we need. While I was nervous that He wouldn’t provide a community for me, He provided me a community so beautiful I couldn’t have dreamt of it.

Other random things about me: Disney is my favorite. The movies, the parks ALL of it. My favorite food is cheese or anything with cheese on it or in it. I’ve yet to meet a cheese I didn’t like. I love to read—as in the type of love where when I got in trouble in middle school my mom would take away my book instead of my phone. I was WILD guys. Harry Styles might be my favorite singer ever and I love hugs.

I am so beyond thankful to Abba for this new season of life that I’m about to walk into. I’m excited to continue to invest in the Wesley community and to get to know new students. College threw a lot of unexpected curveballs at me and it helped so much to have people willingly walk alongside me through those dark days. I hope that whether you’re a freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior that you find a community of people who are chasing after Jesus because that’s what matters most. Jesus changed my life and Jesus changes everything.

Sarah Pounds

God is good, all the time.
All the time, God is good.

Life so far has been a testament to that truth, even when I didn't believe it myself. My name is Sarah, and undergrad was a time where I learned a lot of things about myself -- some good, some humbling. I was raised in church, but Wesley was the place where I really started to recognize how God was moving in my life. It's where I found my people. It wasn't all smooth sailing, but in the Wesley community I learned to draw strength from faith while also wrestling with the hard things that Christ calls us to.

I found a spiritual home. So now, I'm committed to helping other students in Middle Georgia find theirs.

I'm from Macon originally and graduated from Mercer in 2018 with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Journalism. I am
currently a member of the Young Clergy Academy 2018-19 cohort and also serve at Mulberry Street UMC.

I love making art, drinking coffee, asking questions, and finding ways to show people that they matter.
