But Jesus called them over and said, "You know that those who rule the Gentiles show off their authority over them and their high-ranking officials order them around. But that's not the way it will be with you. Whoever wants to be great among you will be your servant."
Wesley of Macon embraces servant leadership. We all work together to serve each other and our community in the hope that doing so will bring glory to God and bring peoplle into a deeper and more trusting relationship with Jesus. Student volunteers are the lifeblood of Wesley. Without their passion and vision, Wesley would no longer be relevant to the lives of students and would fail to meet them where they are. It takes a team who is more interested in serving than being in charge, and none of it is possible without a commitment to following the guidance of the Holy Spirit to where God is calling us. Our leadership structure includes Student Leaders, Student Interns, Associates, a Campus Pastor, and a Board of Directors.
Hi y'all. I'm Brandon Tolle, the Campus Minister of Wesley Foundation of Macon. My wife, MaryBeth, and I were married in 2006 and we have two fantastic kids, Eli and Ansley Jane. I have lived in or near Macon since 2004, and I am unbelievably excited to be back at my Alma mater. I am a Mercerian ('07) and a graduate of Middle Georgia State University (Cochran campus, '03). MaryBeth is a Wesleyanne (Golden Hearts of '07) and a graduate of Mercer Law ('10). Without a doubt, we love Macon!
I deeply believe that God's love is the ultimate theme of the Bible and as the body of Jesus Christ, expressing that love is the ultimate call of the church. God is calling us and empowering us by the Spirit to walk in freedom from sin, death, and shame while engaging the brokenness of the world with faith, hope, and love. worshipping with, serving with, and discipling students in Macon through Wesley is a dream come true. I am excited to see how God uses us this year to build for the Kingdom together!
The Associates are members of the Wesley Staff and are not current undergraduate students. Associates are expected to lead by example in their relationships with the Wesley students. The main part of their job is to meet with students on a regular basis for discipleship while assisting the Director in planning for the school year.
Each of the Student Interns has a specific ministry area within Wesley and are all expected to serve roughly 10 hours per week, including a weekly planning meeting and worship. In addition, they meet weekly with the Campus Minister for discipleship as well as meeting weekly with their Student Leaders for discipleship
The Student Leaders have even more specific responsibilities and roles within their area of ministry, led by the Student Interns. Each Student Leader is expected to serve roughly 5 hours per week, including discipleship and worship. They meet weekly with their corresponding Student Intern for discipleship.
